Grisaille
Developed between 2023 and 2025, recorded between autumn 2025 and spring 2026.
Grisaille is shaped by reduction, intuition, and time. Woven from a deliberately restricted palette, the pieces emerge from musical systems set in motion and allowed to unfold according to their own internal logic. Rather than following a fixed compositional path, they drift, accumulate, and transform: forms revealing themselves gradually through interaction, repetition, and change.
The work foregrounds the first gesture. Takes are retained as they arrive rather than rehearsed into place, preserving the uncertainty and vitality of initial instinct. The intention is not to impose a predetermined path, but to listen closely and gently nudge and perturb as the pieces reveal their own direction.
In quiet dialogue with earlier works, Grisaille returns to familiar ground under altered conditions. Memory and place are not described so much as carried: embedded traces held within texture, weight, and silence. What emerges is music that feels less constructed than discovered.
